Roller shutters are made for privacy, energy efficiency, and security. They are typically integrated with the header of a window and door and are hidden in the finished wall. Shutter operation can be motorized or crank driven.

There are two main shutter materials, PVC and aluminum. Either material can be foam filled for additional energy efficiency or strength. For coastal applications we recommend the PVC shutters. However, these are not hurricane rated and should not be used in lieu of impact glass.

Many shutter designs are connected to passive solar heating concepts. These electrically operated shutters can be programmed to increase or decrease heat gain. We provide timers, light and wind sensors as accessories.
