Purposely we do not call this product line aluminum-clad. Our wood-aluminum system has been introduced in Germany several decades ago as a result of failing aluminum-clad products. This window consists of an extruded aluminum (can also be copper or bronze) profile attached to a wood window. The space between the metal and the wood allows for drainage which we achieve with a triple, sloped gasket system. All mitres are welded and powder coated before assembly.
This product is available in any wood species including some softer woods such as Alder and Spruce that we would not recommend for solid wood windows. Although our wood-aluminum window is markedly more expensive than American aluminum-clad counterparts, it is the best window product with maintenance free exterior surface and real interior wood in the industry today. See an example in our project gallery.
